Doug Campbell graduated from University of Guelph in 1988 with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology focusing on Criminology and Psychology. In 1990, Doug pursued his post-graduate certification in Human Resources Management and just recently in 2015 he completed University of Western Ontario’s post-graduate Public Administration Diploma program.

Doug has been employed with the Region of Waterloo’s Social Services department since 1991. In his first 12 years with the Region of Waterloo, Doug worked as a caseworker first managing general caseloads followed by more specialized caseloads later on including under 25’s, sole support parents, and long-term unemployed. His aim was to coach participants and link them to programs and resources that would assist them in becoming financially self-sufficient.

In 1998, Doug moved into Employment Services, implementing the Community Participation (Workfare) program for the Region of Waterloo and later creating customized training programs both of which are still in active use and managed by Doug today. For the past four years, Doug has been managing Employment Resource Centres in Kitchener, Waterloo and Cambridge as well as the self-employment program for Regional Social Services.

Doug has also shared his time with Kitchener/Waterloo and Guelph/Welllington United Way agencies as Loaned Representative in 2001 and Allocations Committee Member from 2012-2014.
