Travel Disclaimer

Each travel program sponsored by the Alumni Affairs and Development office is subject to the "Terms & Conditions" and "Responsibilities" set by the company operating the tour.

Refund and Cancellation Policies

Tour companies set their own cancellation and refund policies. Be sure to consult the individual trip brochure. Tour companies generally require written notice of cancellation in order to process refunds and may retain a portion of the payment for administrative fees.

Scheduled Tours

Our world is in a continuous state of change; sometimes these changes have impact on the departure dates, itineraries, program details, and/or prices of our tours.

Physically-Challenged Travelers

A helper capable of and totally responsible for providing the required attention and assistance must accompany participants requiring extraordinary assistance. When travelling as part of a group, it is important not to impede or slow down the itinerary. All trips involve walking to varying degrees. Any physical and/or medical restrictions must be reported at the time the reservation is made. The tour company can help determine if a trip is right for you.

Liability

The tour operator and its staff act only as agents for the suppliers of transportation, accommodations, food, and other goods and services provided to the tour participant. All arrangements for transport, accommodations, and services are made upon the express condition that the University of Guelph shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, consequential or incidental damage, injury, loss, accident, delay, or irregularity of any kind occasioned by reason of any act or omission beyond its control, including, without limitation, any act of negligence or breach of contract of any third party such as an airline, cruise line, train, hotel, restaurant, ground handler, etc., who is to or does supply any goods or services for the tour.

The University of Guelph is not responsible for any losses or expenses due to delay or changes in schedule, overbooking of accommodations, default of any third parties, sickness, weather, strikes, acts of God, acts of terrorism, force majeure, war, quarantine, criminal activity, or for any other cause beyond its control.

The University of Guelph and/or the tour operator may decline to accept a reservation at any time.

Traveler Testimonials

This proved to be a wonderful tour that was all we expected and more in many ways. The arrangements were all well taken care of at every turn. A highlight of the Amazon trip was the knowledgeable and friendly naturalists on board the Zaphiro. They really enhanced our experience on the river.

Mark & Marilyn Sears, Amazon River Expedition

Our trip to Tanzania was magical. The Serengetti and Ngorongoro Crater are two of the great wonders of the natural world. The travel arrangements were excellent. Just pack your bags, update your shots and go!
