Celebration of Excellence honours outstanding grads and 25th Anniversary of the President's Scholarships
The Celebration of Excellence on March 24, was a combined event featuring the annual UGAA Awards of Excellence and the 25th Anniversary of the President’s Scholarships.
This year we recognized Margaret Dickenson, B.H. Sc.’68 (Alumna of Honour); Dr. Tricia Bertram Gallant, BA ’94 (Alumni Medal of Achievement); and Linda Hruska, B.Sc. (Agr.) ’85 (Alumni Volunteer Award). These distinguished Guelph grads will be profiled in the upcoming Summer edition of The Portico.
The award recipients and President’s Scholars represent broad and diverse talents, important contributions, and a shared passion for the University of Guelph. You are invited to nominate an inspiring U of G grad to this year’s Awards of Excellence program. The deadline is October 31, 2012. Learn more about the program and find nomination information at www.alumni.uoguelph.ca.
In recognizing the anniversary of the President's Scholarships program, we witnessed how past recipients have gone on to great success in careers and made incredible contributions to their industries and communities. Technology in the brand-new Engineering atrium of the Thornbrough Building allowed the Scholars to join via Skype from around the world. It was energizing to watch as the latest scholarship recipients received encouragement from alumni. We look forward to witnessing the future accomplishments of our newest scholars.
