Thursday, May 3, 2012: OAC Alumni Association / Alumni Foundation Annual General Meetings

All OAC grads are members of the OAC Alumni Association. Come to the Annual General Meeting at 3 pm and find out what your association is doing for you. The Alumni Foundation is also holding its Annual General on the same day 4:15 pm in Creelman Hall. If you are a member of the Foundation, you are cordially invited to attend this AGM as well. Thursday, May 3, 2012: MBA Student and Alumni Connections Banquet

This evening will feature Diane Browne, Vice President, Business Development, ARAMARK Healthcare speaking on Hospitality Linking Two Worlds. The focus will be on how the world of healthcare might benefit from an enhanced hospitality/service approach within the context of support service departments. Saturday, May 5, 2012: Blake Graham Memorial Ceremony

You are invited to join alumni, friends and family to celebrate the life of Dr. John Edward Blake Graham, OVC DVM '51 (1926 - 2012) at 11 am in War Memorial Hall, University of Guelph. Following the ceremony, the Graham family invites you to join them at a reception in the OVC Dining Hall at the Ontario Veterinary College. Wednesday, May 9, 2012: Accounting Alumni Reunion

Join fellow accounting grads for this informal, casual reunion at Mirtos Italian Restaurant, 25 Toronto Street (off Adelaide, East of Yonge), Toronto. The reception will start around 5:30 pm with dinner served at 7 pm. RSVP to Jacqueline Watty, Alumni Advancement Manager.

Thursday, May 10, 2012: EAA Industry Tour at Enermodal

Join fellow grads for a tour of Enermodal Engineering, the most energy efficient office complex in Canada. Richard Lay, BSc(Eng) '77 will lead the tour of this LEED triple platinum building followed by a social with light refreshments at the nearby Lancaster Smoke House. Cost is $10 payable at the door. Tour starts at 6:30 pm. Space is limited. Registration is now closed.

Thursday, May 10, 2012: Annual Ottawa Alumni Reception

President Alastair J. S. Summerlee cordially invites you to join fellow University of Guelph alumni from 6 to 9 pm at the Annual Ottawa Alumni Reception being held at the National Arts Centre, Fountain Room. Join us for this special event to reconnect with friends and former classmates and learn about the University's top priorities. Complimentary hors d'oeuvres and cash bar will be available. Sunday, May 27, 2012: CBSAA Family Day at the Royal Botanical Gardens

Alumni and family/friends are invited to save the date for this annual event. Registration is at 11:30 am with a complimentary lunch at noon followed by self-guided tours of the gardens. Admission to the gardens is complimentary for alumni and RBG members, Adult guests $10, Seniors (65+), Students and Youth Guests $7.75, Children 5 to 12 years of age $5.75 and Children under 5 are free. A free event for the general public, educators, students and space enthusiasts. Special guests include Rob McDonald from CBS'c Quirks and Quarks and NASA's Mike Good. This event takes place from 10 am to 3 pm in Rozanski Hall. Click here for more information.

Monday, June 4, 2012: Statistics Alumni Event

Are you a stats grad? Join a special alumni event being held at the Bullring. Please respond to Gary Umphrey at umphrey@uoguelph.ca to let us know if you are coming. This event is being held during the Statistical Society of Canada's (SSC) Annual Meeting taking place in Guelph, June 3 to 6.

Tuesday, June 5, 2012: The Transit of Venus

Come to the Department of Physics and watch Venus move across the disk of our sun during its June 5 transit, an event that will not be repeated for over 105 years. The real-time imaging of the of the transit will be broadcast to room 113 in the MacNaughton building. This event starts at 5:30 pm with the transit starting at 6 pm and will last beyond sunset, for over three hours of viewing pleasure.

Friday, Saturday, June 15, 16 & 17, 2012: Alumni Weekend

Join fellow alumni for a weekend of reunion celebrations! The weekend begins on Friday with the OVC 150th Celebration Reception and Dinner. Please note that the Star Party is SOLD OUT. Continue the festivities on Saturday at the President's Luncheon where we honour the 50th anniversary classes. Participate in one or more campus tours scheduled throughout the day such as the Johnston Hall tour, Macdonald Institute Tour, OVC tours, the Ice Cream Technology tour, etc. Join all reunion years at the Milestone Reception and Dinner at 6 pm in Creelman Hall. Monday, June 18, 2012: Gryphon Golf Classic

Join alumni and friends at the Annual Gryphon Golf Classic being held at the Cutten Fields, Guelph. Cost is $1200 per foursome or $300 per person. The day starts at 10 am with registration followed by a 12 pm shotgun start, four person scramble format. Your registration fee includes green fees, golf carts (2 per team), range balls, gift bags, reception, dinner and door prizes. Proceeds from the tournament go towards student-athletic scholarships. Monday, June 25, 2012: HAFA/HTM AA Golf Tournament

Save the date to join fellow grads and friends at this annual event being held this year at the Royal Woodbine Golf Course, Toronto. Registration starts at 7 am with a shotgun start at 7:45 am in a team scramble format. Lunch follows golf. Saturday, June 30, 2012: See Sarah McLachlan at Ravina Festival in Chicago

Join Chicago area alumni at the All-Canada Universities Alumni event in Chicago at Ravinia Festival. This will be an opportunity to see old friends and make new ones among fellow Canadians.
