of our future
On behalf of the University of Guelph, thank you for your generous contributions to The BetterPlanet Project, the most ambitious and exciting fundraising campaign in the University’s history. The campaign reached a milestone in 2011 as we significantly passed the halfway mark in our goal to raise $200 million by 2014, the University’s 50th anniversary.
This achievement would not have been possible without your tremendous support. The BetterPlanet Project will accelerate change and funding in areas where University of Guelph researchers and teachers already excel: food, water, animal and human health, communities and the environment. Everyday, Guelph researchers develop new solutions and opportunities for some of the world’s most perplexing problems. Take water, for example, the most precious resource on the planet. Our researchers are on the cutting-edge of developing innovative technologies and solutions that reduce contamination of soil and waterways while conserving and reclaiming the world’s vital water supplies. Imagine the possibilities for those in need.
Each of us has our own personal reason for giving. My dad, my sister and I are all Guelph alumni, but this campaign extends beyond the University family. In business, we must show continuous commitment and have the responsibility to support the communities where we work and the planet that we live on. The issues and efforts at the heart of The BetterPlanet Project resonate deeply for all of us. This new Impact of Giving calendar includes diverse stories of giving and commitment that have brought us to this point in our fundraising effort.
On behalf of your volunteer campaign committee, I encourage you to continue your support of The BetterPlanet Project in every way that you can. Every dollar counts for a better planet for all of us.
